Privacy Policy
Webtiara (“we”, “us”) operates the Samah mobile app (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Summary
- Samah is built for calm — we do not sell your data or show ads.
- Most information stays on your device (listening stats, mixes, preferences).
- Subscriptions are processed by Apple; we do not receive your payment card details.
- We do not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or location.
Information we collect
On your device
The App may store the following locally on your iPhone or iPad (and, where enabled, sync via your iCloud account):
- Listening activity — total listening time, session counts, daily streaks, and category breakdowns used for in-app stats.
- Mood check-ins — optional daily mood entries you choose to save.
- Custom sound mixes — mixes you create, including sound selections and volume levels.
- App preferences — settings such as timers, onboarding state, and widget data shared with the Samah widget extension through the App Group container.
- Purchase state — whether you have an active Samah Premium entitlement, as determined by Apple StoreKit on your device.
This on-device data is used only to provide App features (playback, stats, widgets, and personalization). It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Account and server data (optional)
If you create an account or sign in, our servers at samah.webtiara.com may store your email address, account identifier, free-trial dates, and verified subscription metadata (such as Apple transaction identifiers and subscription expiry) so your Premium access can be recognized across devices. Passwords, when used, are stored using industry-standard hashing — we never store plain-text passwords.
Account sign-in may not be required in all versions of the App. When no account is used, Premium access is determined solely by StoreKit on your device.
Information from Apple
When you purchase or restore Samah Premium, Apple processes payment and provides us (or our backend, when account sync is enabled) with subscription verification data — for example product identifier, transaction identifier, and expiration date. We do not receive your full payment card number.
Notifications
With your permission, the App may send local notifications — for example a reminder before a free trial ends. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
Motion data
If you enable sleep-timer features that detect stillness, the App may use device motion sensors only while the timer is active, to fade audio when you fall asleep. Motion data is processed on-device and is not sent to our servers.
How we use information
- Provide and improve App features (audio playback, mixes, stats, widgets).
- Verify and manage Samah Premium subscriptions when server sync is enabled.
- Respond to support requests you send us.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:
- With Apple — for in-app purchases, subscription management, and Sign in with Apple when you choose it.
- With service providers — such as hosting (e.g. Vercel) and database providers (e.g. Supabase) that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- When required by law — to comply with applicable law, regulation, or legal process.
Data retention
On-device data remains until you delete the App or clear its data. Server account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, unless you request deletion or we are required to retain it longer by law.
Your choices
- Delete the App to remove most on-device data.
- Manage subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
- Contact us to request access to or deletion of server-held account data.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International users
If you use the App outside your home country, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
